National 18+ Youth Conference

Conference Information:

The Office of Youth Affairs will be hosting the Annual National 18+ Youth Conference on July 12th, 2026, at Bermuda College. Focusing on the theme, “Power in Participation: Youth Shaping Bermuda’s Future,” the intention of the Conference Brunch & Round Table Discussion is to explore the importance of youth engagement, leadership, and civic participation in shaping Bermuda’s future. Through meaningful dialogue and collaboration, the conference aims to inspire young people to recognize their influence, raise awareness of opportunities for involvement, and encourage active participation in creating positive change for Bermuda and the wider Caribbean region.

Through presentations and discussions with panel members, we intend to explore how young people can collaborate across borders, influence policy, and drive meaningful social and economic progress. During the featured round table discussion, three international youth delegates from across the Caribbean will join three local youth advocates for a powerful conversation titled “From Islands to Impact: How Caribbean Youth Can Lead Regional Change.” We are also pleased to welcome international guests Vanessa Burke from the Cayman Islands and Jordan Clarke from Bahamas. It is our hope that the conversations shared will help identify opportunities for collaboration, provide direction, and inspire action from those in attendance.

We will also host an information fair during the conference. Very often in our conversations with young people, they tell us that they are either unaware of available opportunities or unsure how to get involved in initiatives that impact their future. This information fair will provide an opportunity for organisations that work with and on behalf of young people to share what they do, increase awareness of available resources, and highlight pathways for continued engagement. Attendees will also gain valuable insight into the National Youth Policy and discover ways to contribute to youth development beyond the conference.
